Visit Britain logoiambassador and VisitBritain are excited to announce a new partnership to highlight the lesser-known attractions in England, Wales and Scotland. This partnership sees three iambassador bloggers visiting Great Britain for a week (15-21 November 2014), starting in London before embarking on solo trips to explore the British countryside.  The bloggers will share their experiences live via their social media channels. Follow them via the hashtag #UnexpectedGB on Twitter, facebook and Instagram as they uncover off-the-beaten-path cultural, historic and culinary attractions in the British countryside.

The bloggers

The bloggers will utilise various modes of transport to explore the selected regions. In addition, they will have a flexible itinerary allowing them to follow up on tips from locals.

On Saturday, 15th November 2014, VisitBritain and the bloggers will host an hour-long #UnexpectedGB Twitter chat to gather tips about things to do and see in the British countryside. The Twittersphere is invited to join the chat which will take place at 5pm UK time (12 noon EST, 6pm CET).

iambassador CEO, Keith Jenkins, said, “We’re thrilled to partner with VisitBritain on this campaign. As a student, I backpacked across Wales and Scotland several times. The British countryside has so much to offer to all travellers – there’s so much history and culture, not to mention the gorgeous landscapes and charming villages. I’m sure a lot of great memories will return as the bloggers embark on their trips.”

“We are delighted to be teaming up with iambassador to showcase some of Britain’s best kept secrets. We’ve set up some really interesting experiences for them, but what we are most excited about is seeing Kirsten, Rachelle and Rob’s discover for themselves what makes our seaside villages, market towns and rugged landscapes so very special. We can’t wait to watch as they immerse themselves in Britain’s countryside culture and share their stories with the world,” added Meredith Pearson, Director of Communications for VisitBritain.
